Who will be named «Swiss Capital of Culture 2030»?

The competition to determine who will be named «Swiss Capital of Culture 2030» is entering its decisive phase: In March, the delegation from the SCC Association’s jury will visit the four candidate cities: Aarau (17 March), Thun (20 March), Bellinzona (25 March) and Lugano, together with Mendrisio and Locarno (26 March). The delegation will gain an in-depth understanding of the cities’ motivations and objectives. In each city, the delegation will visit three to four key locations and institutions and assess their role in the year as Capital of Culture. The jury delegation’s impressions and findings will be incorporated into a report, which, together with the submitted application dossiers, will serve as the basis for the final deliberations by the SCC Association’s full jury in early June.
