Anne Bisang

« Swiss Capital of Culture is an innovative project for our country. It's a unique opportunity to strengthen the links between the population as a whole and the diversity of artistic life in each region. Not only does culture guarantee living links at the heart of a community, it is also a formidable driving force for individual emancipation. The Swiss Capital of Culture project is a national expression of our attachment to what encourages openness to others and stimulates our collective imagination. »*

Anne Bisang grew up in Japan and Lebanon before returning to Geneva, where she studied at the Conservatoire's Ecole Supérieure d'Art Dramatique (ESAD). After a period in visual and silent theatre, her artistic work is based on text and the creativity of the actors. Convinced of the responsibility of the artist and the theatre in world affairs, she chooses to work with living authors and lesser-known texts that raise humanist, social and political issues. In June 2013, she was appointed artistic director of the TPR - Centre neuchâtelois des arts vivants, in La Chaux-de-Fonds. There she continues her commitment to theatre that is civic-minded, committed, unifying and thought-provoking.
